Diesel Data: Automotive Repair

Codes 11 Thru 16

Code 11

Indicates a fault in the distributor circuit. This code will appear when the logic module has not received a distributor signal since the battery was reconnected.

Code 12

Indicates a fault in the standby memory circuit. This code appears if direct battery feed to the logic module is interrupted.

Code 13

Indicates a fault in the MAP sensor pneumatic system. This code will appear if the MAP sensor vacuum level does not change between start and start/run transfer speed (500---600 RPM).

Code 14

Indicates a fault in the MAP sensor electrical sensor. This code will appear if the MAP sensor signal is too low (below .02 volts) or too high (above 4.9 volts).

Code 15

Indicates a fault in the speed sensor circuit. This code will appear if engine speed is above 1468 RPM and the speed sensor indicates less than 2 mph. Note that this code is only valid if it is sensed while vehicle is moving.

Code 16

Indicates a loss of battery voltage.
