EGR WARNING SYSTEM
This system has a warning light that lights up every 50,000 miles of driving in order to inform the driver that it is time to have the EGR system inspected.
The system consists of a distance sensor driven by the odometer, a reset switch, and a bulb. The bulb lights up when the ignition switch is set to "ON" while the engine is stopped to indicate that it is not burned out.
RESET SWITCH
After inspecting the EGR system, operate the reset switch so that the warning light goes out when the engine is started.
NOTE: If the speedometer is replaced, set the new odometer to match the distance indicated on the old odometer.
