Recall - High HC CO and Nox Emissions, 2WD Vehicles: Parts

A. Emissions Service Parts Packages, PN C3940395, are being shipped free of charge to all involved dealers for service of affected vehicles. Each dealer to whom involved vehicles were invoiced (or the current dealer at the same location) will receive enough parts packages to service 40% of those vehicles.

Each package contains the following components (1 each):

Choke shim Carburetor flange gasket Enrichment solenoid jet Vacuum control valve Bracket Vacuum hose harness Tie strap (long) Tie strap (short) EGR gasket Sub-EGR E-clip Sub-EGR ball Hose routing label (manual transmission) Hose routing label (automatic transmission)

Also included in each package is an instruction summary with a service procedure checklist for convenient reference by the servicing technician.

Note: In addition to the listed emission package components, the fast idle release tools provided for Recall # 469, PN C3940272, will also be required for this procedure.

B. Inspect/Replace Parts: Jet mixture solenoid valves, PN MD612014, and oxygen sensors, PN MD117240, are being shipped at dealer cost to all involved dealers for use as necessary. Dealers will receive enough of these parts to service 10% of involved vehicles.

Additional parts may be ordered from Parts Depots if required. Order only as needed for scheduled repairs.
