H.Modify the Vacuum Hoses
Figure 12:
Note: See Figure 12 for harness layout and description of connection points.
Figure 13:
1. Assemble the Vacuum Control Valve from the service package to the supplied vacuum hose harness. Match the blue, red, and white tracer hoses to the corresponding ports on the valve (Figure 13).
Figure 14:
2. Remove the vacuum hose between the thermovalve and EGR valve as shown in Figure 14.
Figure 15:
3. Connect the hose from the vacuum delay valve on the vacuum hose harness to the EGR valve (Figure 15). Connect the hose from the hose connector to the thermovalve.
Figure 16:
4. Locate and cut the vacuum line from the intake manifold vacuum joint as shown in Figure 16. This is the vacuum line or tee leading to the air cleaner, which was plugged during Step A-1.
Figure 17:
5. Insert the harness vacuum tee at the end of the white tracer hose into the cut ends of the hose (Figure 17).
Figure 18:
6. Locate and cut the vacuum hose between the carburetor base and the depression chamber (Figure 18).
Figure 19:
7. Route the vacuum line with green tracer and F-connector around the carburetor and insert the connector into the cut ends of the hose (Figure 19). Retain the harness in place using the shorter of the two supplied tie straps.
Figure 20:
8. Locate and remove the vacuum line connecting the Secondary Air Control Solenoid and the Secondary Air Control Valve (Figure 20).
Figure 21:
9. Disconnect the remaining vacuum hose from the Secondary Air Control Solenoid front port and connect it to the tee in the red tracer line of the harness. Connect the short line from that tee to the front solenoid port (Figure 21). Connect the green tracer hose from the harness to the rear solenoid port.
Figure 22:
10. Connect the remaining green tracer hose of the harness to the Secondary Air Control Valve. Retain the hose in place using the longer of the two supplied tie straps (Figure 22).
Figure 23:
11. Install the supplied bracket on the secondary air hose near the air cleaner assembly.
12. Clip the Vacuum Control Valve into the bracket (Figure 23).
13. Reinstall the air cleaner assembly.
