Recall - Excessive HC and CO Emissions: Overview

Subject: Emission Recall # 294T -- HC and CO Emissions
Models: 1986 and 1987 Model Year Plymouth and Dodge Colt Vista 4WD Vehicles Equipped With a 2.0L Carbureted Engine and Federal Emission Control System
Hydrocarbon (HC) and carbon monoxide (CO) levels on the listed model vehicles may be in violation of Federal Emissions Standards. To correct the condition, the following service steps must be performed on all involved vehicles:
^ Clean the carburetor primary air bleed jet, secondary air bleed jet and choke shaft.
^ Install a shim in the carburetor choke system to provide leaner choke operation.
^ Replace the enrichment solenoid jet.
