Curb Idle Speed Adjustment

Curb idle speed on fuel injected models is controlled by the idle speed control servo and the throttle position sensor. Whenever the ISC servo or the throttle body is removed or replaced, the following adjustment should be performed.

1987-88 Colt Vista & Conquest
1. Check and adjust ignition timing as previously described.
2. Increase engine speed to 2000 to 3000 RPM for 5 seconds or more, then decrease engine speed to idle for approximately 2 minutes.
3. Install a suitable tachometer onto engine as per manufacturer's instructions.
4. Check curb idle speed. If curb idle speed is not within specifications, check ISC system as described in ``Computerized Engine Controls.''
