K. Adjust Trans. Throttle Control Cable A/T Vehicles Only

K. Adjust Transmission Throttle Control Cable (Automatic Transmission Vehicles Only)

1. Verify that the engine is at normal operating temperature.





2. Locate the transmission throttle control cable, and raise the upper rubber cover upwards to expose the cable stopper (Figure 14).

3. Loosen the lower cable bracket mounting bolt.





4. Adjust the distance between the cable stopper and the lower cover to 0.12 inches (3 mm), (Figure 5).

5. Tighten the lower cable bracket mounting bolt to 10 ft.lbs. (13 N-m) torque.

6. Move the carburetor throttle into wide open position. Check to see that the transmission throttle control cable still has additional movement available. If the cable does not have any further movement, readjust the cable again.

7. Reinstall the air cleaner assembly.
