I. Check Adj. of Trans. Throttle Control Cable (A/T Only)

1. Verify that the engine is at normal operating temperature.





2. Locate the transmission throttle control cable, and raise the upper rubber cover upwards to expose the cable stopper (Figure 15).

3. Move the carburetor throttle into the wide open position. Check to see that the transmission throttle control cable still has additional movement available. If the cable does not have any further movement, readjust the cable as follows:

a. Loosen the lower cable bracket mounting bolt.





b. Adjust the distance between the cable stopper and the lower cover to 0.12 inches (3 mm), (Figure 16).

c. Tighten the lower cable bracket mounting bolt to 10 ft.lbs. (13 N-m) torque.

4. Return the rubber cover to its original position.

5. Reinstall the air cleaner assembly.
