L. Install Intermediate Harness

1. If not previously performed, check any radio station presets and record them for reference.

2. With the ignition key in the OFF position, disconnect the battery negative cable.





3. Locate the Carburetor Control Unit (CCU) under the center console (Figure 16).

4. FOR MANUAL TRANSMISSION VEHICLES

a. Disconnect the smaller of the two CCU connectors.





b. Insert the intermediate harness between the CCU and connector (Figure 17).

c. The connector may be attached to the forward facing side of the CCU with the provided adhesive tape.

5. FOR AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION VEHICLES

a. Disconnect both of the CCU connectors.





b. Insert the intermediate harness between the CCU and the two connectors (Figure 18).

c. The harness connectors may be secured to the vehicle floor with the provided adhesive tape.





d. Peel the protective backing from the harness modulator adhesive strip and attach the modulator to the forward facing side of the CCU as shown in Figure 19.

6. Reconnect the battery negative cable.
