D. Clean EGR Valve and Passages

1. Remove the EGR valve from the intake manifold. Place a shop towel over the intake manifold opening.

2. Remove the carbon deposits from the EGR valve and intake manifold passages.

NOTE:
Use of a shop vacuum cleaner will aid in cleaning out any loose carbon deposits from the manifold passages.

3. Using a new EGR gasket, reinstall the EGR valve.
