Poor Acceleration (Cold)

Definition: Engine starts, idles up, and then dies.
POSSIBLE CAUSE ACTION
Accelerator pump circuit not functioning properly Check pump output and repair as needed.

Restricted air cleaner or exhaust system Check filter and test for restricted exhaust.

Choke vacuum kick set too wide Check and adjust as needed.

Vacuum leak Inspect vacuum hoses for proper routing and damaged lines
Check intake manifold, carburetor base etc.

Secondary air valve misadjusted (4 barrel only) Check adjustment and operation.

Heated air inlet system malfunctioning Check operation and repair as needed.

Heat valve stuck or manifold heat passages plugged Check operation and repair as needed.
