Fig. 91 Actuator Switch PULL Test:
1. Disconnect main fusible link in engine compartment.
2. Remove lower instrument panel bezel from steering column.
3. On standard column, unsnap retainer clips and remove wiring.
4. Disconnect speed control switch electrical connector from instrument panel harness connector.
5. On models with tilt column, remove terminals from insulator with Tool C-4135.
6. On all models, remove wiper control knob from end of lever.
7. Remove screws attaching speed control switch to column.
8. On models with tilt column, attach a flexible guide wire to lower end of speed control switch harness.
9. On models with standard column, remove upper steering column lock cover which is retained by two screws.
10. Remove switch and harness from steering column.
11. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. On standard steering column, insert harness connector through turn signal lever opening in column and pull down and out lower end.
b. On tilt column, insert harness wires through turn signal lever opening in column and pull upward through upper housing.
