Standard Column

On models with airbag restraint system, battery ground cable must be disconnected and isolated before performing this procedure.
Failure to do so may result in accidental deployment and personal injury.
1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. On models with airbag restraint system, remove airbag module, refer to Air Bags and Seat Belts/Air Bags (Supplemental Restraint Systems)/Service and Repair.
3. On all models, remove steering wheel, refer to Steering and Suspension/Steering/Steering Wheel/Service and Repair.
4. Remove wiring protector from steering column, then disconnect turn signal switch electrical connector.
5. Remove lock housing cover, then wash/wipe switch assembly.
6. Remove turn signal switch upper bearing retainer screws, then pull switch from steering column, while carefully guiding wires up through column opening.
7. Reverse procedure to install.
