13-Auto Shutdown Relay Fault & Pull In Coil
1. Put diagnostic read-out tool in ``Read Battery Voltage'' mode, then connect auto shutdown relay for first volt check.
2. Check voltage at dark blue/yellow wire of auto shutdown relay while connected.
3. If voltage is within 1 volt of battery voltage, proceed to step 4. If voltage is not within 1 volt of battery voltage, proceed to step 9.
4. Turn the ignition switch Off, disconnect 60-way connector from SMEC, then inspect terminals for damage.
5. If terminals are damaged, repair terminals, then proceed to Test 16.
6. If terminals are not damaged, turn the ignition switch On, then check voltage at terminal No. 58 of the 60-way connector.
7. If the voltmeter reads battery voltage, replace the SMEC, then proceed to Test 16.
8. If the voltmeter does not read battery voltage, repair the dark blue/yellow wire for an open circuit between 60-way connector and auto shutdown relay, then proceed to Test 16.
9. Disconnect the 4-way from auto shutdown relay, then inspect for terminal damage.
10. If terminals are damaged, repair terminals, then proceed to Test 16.
11. Check voltage at the dark blue/white wire of auto shutdown relay plug.
12. If the voltmeter reads battery voltage, replace the shutdown relay, then proceed to Test 16.
13. If the voltmeter does not read battery voltage, repair the dark blue/white wire for an open circuit between the harness splice and auto shutdown relay.
