Front Door: Service and Repair

Front Door Assembly:

FRONT DOOR ASSEMBLY
1. Route and install wiring harness, from inside vehicle through cowl side panel and at door's hinge pillar.
2. Install latch assembly (3 torx screws).
3. Subassemble outside handle assembly with snap-in key cylinder to the latch actuating links. Install assembly, attach links to latch and secure with tie-down bracket and isolator (2 nuts).
4. Apply watershield to inside remote handle opening on doors inner panel.
5. Subassemble inside remote handle assembly and latch link. Route link through opening in watershield. Install anti rattle clip, connect link to latch and install remote, (2 rivets, 1 screw).
6. Install lock knob and link assembly. Connect to latch.
7. Install rear lower glass channel (2 rivets).
8. Install power lock motor and attach linkage (if so equipped).
9. Install mirror bezel moulding.
10. Install upper moulding.
11. Install front lower glass channel. Secure top attachment. Leave bottom loose until glass is installed.
12. Install weatherstrip assembly.
13. Install belt-line moulding.
14. Install mirror assembly.
15. Install drop glass assembly from the inboard side of door. Raise glass to full up position and hold in place with fiber tool.
16. Secure bottom of front glass channel.
17. Install window regulator and guide roller into lift plate.
18. Install inside mirror flag bezel.
19. Install speaker and rain shield.
20. Apply door watershield.
21. Install sound shield and door trim panel assembly.
22. Install power window switch and bezel assembly (if so equipped).
23. Install inside remote handle bezel and power lock switch assembly.
24. Snap power lock switch bezel over remote handle bezel.
