Trim Panel: Service and Repair

Garnish Mouldings And Trim Panels:





INTERIOR TRIM PANELS AND GARNISH MOULDINGS
Excellent fit and appearance are two benefits of overlapping garnish and trim panels on the interior of the vehicle. A series of trim components must be removed in order to service trim panels or garnish mouldings. The following list is the sequence of installation to be most effective.

1. Install deck lid and fuel door release cover.
2. Install B-pillar seatbelt retractors.
3. Install B-pillar trim after routing the seat- belt through the opening in the trim panel.
4. Secure B-pillar seatbelts upper turning loop and lower sill attachment.
5. Install side cowl trim.
6. Install A-pillar trim (snap in).
7. Install rear seat back latch striker assembly.
8. Install rear seat bolster support brackets.
9. Install center high mounted stop lamp.
10. Install shelf trim panel.
11. Secure center high mounted stop lamp cover.
12. Install quarter trim panel side extensions (snap in).
13. Install rear shoulder belts.
a. Snap in plastic shield in quarter inner panel.
b Secure retractor assembly.
14. Install quarter trim panels.
a Snap in dual lock fastener in quarter inner panel.
b Route shoulder belt through opening in trim panel before installing.
c Secure lower shoulder belt attachment.
d Secure trim panel.
e Secure shoulder belt upper turning loop.
f Snap-On upper turning loop trim cover.
15. Install rear door roof rail garnish moulding (snap in).
16. Install rear door sill scuff cover.
17. Install rear inboard seatbelts.
18. Install rear seat bolsters.
19. Install rear seats.

SIDE COWL TRIM PANEL
1. Remove screws from scuff plate and cowl trim.
2. Remove lower most clip from "A" post garnish moulding.
3. Remove side cowl and scuff plate trim panel.
4. Reverse this procedure to install.

"A" POST AND SIDE GARNISH MOULDING
1. Remove "A" post and side garnish moulding.
2. Reverse this procedure to install.

"B" POST TRIM PANEL
1. Remove "A" post and side garnish moulding, as necessary.
2. Remove side cowl and scuff plate trim panel, as necessary.
3. Remove rear door sill scuff plate.
4. Remove rear door roof rail garnish moulding.
5. Remove front seat belt to sill bolt.
6. Remove front seat belt to "B" post bolt.
7. Remove "B" post trim panel.
8. Reverse this procedure to install and torque all seat belt bolts to 40 Nm (350 inch-pounds).

QUARTER TRIM PANEL
1. Remove seat back.
2. Remove shoulder belt bolt through loop.
3. Remove rear door roof rail garnish moulding, rear door sill scuff plate.
4. Remove two screws, upper and lower.
5. Detach two knob lock fasteners near backlite.
6. Reverse above procedure for installation.
