REMOVAL STEPS
Vehicles with liftgate lock actuator
1. Liftgate trim and waterproof film
2. Handle rod
3. Liftgate link assembly
4. Release handle
5. Liftgate lock actuator
6. Liftgate latch
7. Liftgate lock cylinder
8. Liftgate lock release switch

Vehicles without liftgate lock actuator
1. Liftgate trim and waterproof film
2. Handle rod
4. Release handle
6. Liftgate latch
7. Liftgate lock cylinder

NOTE: Reverse the removal procedures to reinstall


SERVICE POINTS OF REMOVAL





2. Removal Of Handle Rod
1. Disconnect the liftgate lock release switch connector from liftgate latch.
2. Separate the liftgate latch and handle load connection.





5. Removal Of Liftgate Lock Actuator
Disconnect the actuator shaft from the lock lever of liftgate latch assembly and remove the actuator.





8. Removal Of Liftgate Lock Release Switch
Insert the trim stick at the installation part of the switch, and then remove the liftgate lock release switch by prying it.

SERVICE POINTS OF INSTALLATION
6. Application Of Grease To Liftgate Latch
Apply a coating of the specified grease to the turning parts and sliding parts of the liftgate latch.

Specified grease: MOPAR Multipurpose Grease Part No. 2932524 or equivalent





5. Installation Of Liftgate Lock Actuator
Connect the lock lever of liftgate latch assembly with the actuator shaft in LOCK position. After connection, check the actuator for operation.

3. Installation Of Liftgate Link Assembly
Apply a coating of the specified grease to the turning parts and sliding parts of the liftgate link assembly.

Specified grease: MOPAR Multipurpose Grease Part No. 2932524 or equivalent





1. Application Of Grease To Waterproof Film
Apply a coating of the specified adhesive to the position shown in the illustration, and then attach the waterproof film.

Specified grease: MOPAR Rope Caulk Sealer 3/16 x 80" roll Part No. 4026044 or equivalent
