Radiator Cooling Fan Motor Relay: Testing and Inspection

On Colt models, the fan relay is located in the relay box, in engine compartment.
1. Remove relay from relay box, apply battery positive to terminal No. 2 and battery negative to terminal No. 1 to relay side of connector.
2. With battery power supplied connect a suitable ohmmeter between terminals 3 and 4, continuity should exist.
3. Remove battery voltage from relay, check between terminals 3 and 4 continuity should not exist, then check between terminals 1 and 2, continuity should exist.
