Note: Found on vehicles with automatic transaxles only. Sometimes called the neutral safety switch, or PRNDL switch.

Switch mounted in transaxle, (automatic only).

Purpose


The Control Module uses this input to control:

^ Fuel Injector Pulse Width
^ Ignition Timing Advance
^ Idle Speed

Operation

Switch sends a signal to the PCM, indicating whether transmission is in, NEUTRAL, PARK, or a drive gear.
