REMOVAL SERVICE POINT

CALIPER ASSEMBLY REMOVAL

- Remove the caliper assembly and suspend it.

REAR HUB ASSEMBLY/REAR HUB UNIT BEARING REMOVAL

Caution: During removal of the rear hub assembly or rear hub unit bearing, if the wheel bearing inner race has been left unremoved on the spindle side, be sure to replace the rear hub assembly or rear hub unit bearing with a new one. If the rear hub assembly or rear hub unit bearing is to be installed with the inner race left unremoved, the oil seal lip could turn over, resulting in oil leakage and looseness.

INSPECTION

- Check the oil seal for cracks or damage.

- Check the rear hub unit bearing for wear or damage.

- Check the rear rotor for chipped teeth.

INSTALLATION SERVICE POINT

REAR SPEED SENSOR INSTALLATION

1. Provisionally install the speed sensor to the sensor bracket.

2. With the caliper assembly and brake disc removed, insert a feeler gauge into the space between the speed sensor's pole piece and the rotor's toothed surface, and then tighten the speed sensor bracket at the position where the clearance at all places is within the standard value.

Standard value: 0.3-0.9 mm (.012-.035 in.)
