Suspension Spring ( Coil / Leaf ): Service and Repair

COIL SPRING REPLACE
1. Raise rear of vehicle and position jack stands under frame side rails to support body.
2. Remove wheel and tire assembly, then remove rear drum brake assembly.
3. Disconnect muffler from exhaust pipe, then remove muffler assembly.
4. Position a suitable jack under suspension arm, then raise suspension arm slightly.
5. Disconnect shock absorber from upper and lower mounting.
6. Carefully lower jack to relieve spring tension, then remove coil spring. When removing spring, note location of upper and lower spring seats.
7. Reverse procedure to install. After completing installation, bleed brake system and adjust rear wheel bearings.
