With the ignition key on and battery voltage greater than 10 volts.
SET CONDITION
The HVAC control head input (HVAC mode mux circuit) voltage is greater than 2.7 volts for 10 consecutive seconds.
THEORY OF OPERATION
The body control module will input a multiplexed signal for the HVAC mode door. The rear window defogger input is also included in this signal. The body control module controls the mode door and rear window defogger based on this input. If this input is shorted to battery voltage, the mode door will stay in defrost position until the short condition is corrected.
