LF,RF,RR,LR Tire Pressure Transmitter Failure
NAME OF CODELF Tire Pressure Sensor/Transmitter Failure
LR Tire Pressure Sensor/Transmitter Failure
RF Tire Pressure Sensor/Transmitter Failure
RR Tire Pressure Sensor/Transmitter Failure
WHEN MONITORED
Ignition on
Every 60 to 68 seconds when vehicle is above approximately 33 km/h (20 mph).
SET CONDITION
The LTPW module monitors for the tire pressure sensor/transmitters which transmit approximately once a minute. The LTPW module stores the last 32 transmissions from the four tire pressure sensor/transmitters If the LTPW module does not receive a transmission from one or more of its tire pressure sensor/transmitters after 32 tire pressure sensor/transmitter transmissions have been received, the LTPW module will ground the Low Tire Pressure Warning Signal Circuit and set the Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC). When the low tire pressure warning signal is grounded, the BCM will set its own DTC and illuminate the "Low Tire" Lamp. If the tire pressure sensor/transmitter should begin to transmit again, (an intermittent problem) the DTC will remain in memory and the Low Tire Pressure Warning Signal Circuit will become ungrounded. The LTPW module will record the number of ignition on/off times since the intermittent type fault last occurred. The DTC's set in the LTPW module and BCM will remain in memory and can be cleared using the DRB III scan tool.
POSSIBLE CAUSES
- Operating a vehicle on jack stands/hoist with only the rear wheel spinning
- Faulty tire pressure sensor/transmitter
- Damaged tire pressure sensor/transmitter
- Tire pressure sensor/transmitter not programmed to LTPW module
