PAB On/Off Switch MUX Circuit Open/Shorted

NAME OF CODE
PAB On/Off Switch Mux Circuit Open/Shorted

WHEN MONITORED
The BCM will monitor the Passenger airbag on/off switch mux circuit every 31.25 ms, regardless of the ignition status and calculate an average voltage created by the resistive PAB on/off switch. Every 250 ms, with the ignition on, the BCM will read the average voltage and determine the appropriate indicator state, Off = 0.20 to 1.95 volts, On = 1.95 to 4.40 volts, Open, Shorted.

SET CONDITION
The code will be set if the circuit is open or shorted for more than 10 seconds. The BCM will send the airbag on/off lamp control message every 2 seconds and on change. The lamp will be illuminated when the switch is in the oft position and flash at a rate of 0.25 HZ (2 seconds on and 2 seconds off) if the circuit is open or shorted. The code will be erased if the circuit voltage is within normal range for 20 ignition cycles.

POSSIBLE CAUSES
- Open PAB on/off switch MUX circuit
- PAB on/off switch MUX circuit shorted
- Faulty PAB On/Off switch
- Faulty Body Control Module
