Removal and Installation
WARNING: Do not start or run engine with cylinder head cover removed from the engine. Damage or personal injury may occur.REMOVAL
1. Remove intake manifold plenum.
2. Cover lower intake manifold with tape during service.
3. Disconnect and relocate ignition cables.
4. Remove air conditioning compressor drive belt.
5. For access to compressor mounting bolts remove the right hood side panel, refer to Body and Frame and remove the right headlamp module, refer to Lighting and Horns for procedures.
6. Remove compressor mounting bolts and mounting bracket. Set compressor and bracket aside, away from cylinder head.
7. Remove spark plug tube nuts and O-rings.
8. Remove rocker cover bolts and remove cover.
INSTALLATION
1. Clean cylinder head and cover mating surfaces. Install new gasket.
2. Install cylinder head cover bolts to 12 Nm (105 inch lbs.).
3. Install spark plug tube nut and O-ring. Tighten nut to 7 Nm (60 inch lbs.).
4. Install ignition cables. Ensure that ignition cables are routed correctly to avoid interference when plenum is installed.
5. Install intake manifold plenum.
6. Install A/C compressor and bracket to engine.
7. Install headlamp module and hood side panel.
