Removal and Installation

NOTE: The windage tray and oil pan gaskets are integral. The silicone rubber gaskets are bonded to both sides of the windage tray. This assembly is reusable provided it is not damaged upon removal.

CAUTION: Sealant must be carefully removed if gasket is to be used again.

REMOVAL
1. Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove engine oil dipstick from housing.
2. Raise vehicle. Drain engine oil.
3. Remove engine bell housing inspection cover.
4. Remove oil pan bolts and remove oil pan.





5. Remove oil pick-up tube from oil pump body.





6. Remove the windage tray/oil pan gasket.

INSTALLATION
1. Apply a 1/8 inch bead of Mopar (R) Silicone Rubber Adhesive Sealant or equivalent, at the parting line of the oil pump body and the rear seal retainer.
2. Install the windage tray/oil pan gasket.
3. Install oil pick-up tube into oil pump body and tighten screw to 28 Nm (20 ft. lbs.).
4. Install pan and tighten fasteners to 12 Nm (105 inch lbs.).
5. Install engine bell housing inspection cover.
6. Lower vehicle and install oil dipstick.
7. Connect negative battery cable.
8. Fill crankcase with oil to proper level.
