Throttle Body: Description and Operation
Throttle Bodies:
The 3.5L engine has two throttle bodies. A shaft connects both throttle bodies and maintains synchronization. The throttle bodies connect to the rear of the intake manifold plenum. The Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) attaches to the right throttle body. Because the shaft maintains throttle body synchronization, the fuel injection system uses only one TPS.
If either throttle body is removed or replaced, the Throttle Body Synchronization procedure must be performed. Refer to Throttle Body Synchronization.
