Diesel Data: Automotive Repair

Fuel Pressure Regulator

The regulator maintains fuel system pressure at approximately 317 kPa (46 psi) with manifold vacuum applied to it and the engine idling.

Without vacuum applied to the regulator, the fuel system operates at 338 kPa (49 psi).

The fuel pump has a maximum unregulated pressure output of approximately 871 kPa (125 psi).

NOTE: Fuel system pressure varies with different amounts of manifold vacuum applied to the regulator.
