Isolator Bushings
DISASSEMBLE1. Remove rocker arm from frame of vehicle.
2. Using 2 screwdrivers as shown pry the ferrule out of the small end of the rocker arm pivot bushing.
NOTE: When setting up the rocker arm for pivot bushing removal, the large end of the bushing is to be in the Cup Special Tool, 8190-6, or equivalent.
3. Place rocker arm in an arbor press supported by Cup Special Tool, 8190-6, or equivalent. Place Remover/Installer Special Tool, 8190-11, or equivalent on the small end of the pivot bushing.
4. Press the pivot bushing out of the rocker arm.
ASSEMBLE
1. Start pivot bushing squarely into pivot bushing hole in rocker arm. Pivot bushing must be installed in rocker arm with large end of bushing on side of rocker arm with boss for stabilizer bar attaching link.
2. Place rocker arm in an arbor press supported by Cup Special Tool, 8190-6, or equivalent. Place Remover/Installer Special Tool, 8190-11, or equivalent on the large end of the pivot bushing.
3. Press pivot bushing into rocker arm. Pivot bushing must be pressed into rocker arm until no gap is present between large end of pivot bushing and rocker arm.
4. Install ferrules into both ends of pivot bushing. Ferrules are installed into pivot bushing using following procedure. Start a ferrule by hand, into each end of the sleeve in the pivot bushing. Then place pivot bushing on a hard surface and using a soft faced hammer seat the ferrules into pivot bushing sleeve until both ferrules are fully seated against ends of pivot bushing.
5. Install rocker arm on vehicle.
