NOTE: The front stabilizer bar attaching links can be replaced without having to remove the stabilizer bar from the vehicle.REMOVE
1. Remove the grill from the front fascia. Refer to illustration for the grill attachment fastener locations.
2. Remove the nuts from both bolts, attaching the stabilizer bar attaching links to the rocker arms.
NOTE: When removing the stabilizer bar attaching link to rocker arm bolts it may be necessary to raise or lower the vehicle slightly. This will take the weight off the bolts making them easier to remove if the bolts are binding in the rocker arms.
3. Remove both stabilizer bar attaching link to rocker arm attaching bolts.
4. Raise vehicle on jackstands or centered on a frame contact type hoist.
5. Grasp the arms of the stabilizer bar and pull downward until the attaching link mounting nuts are accessible.
6. Remove the stabilizer bar attaching link nut using the following procedure. Keep the attaching link stud from rotating using a Torx Plus 40 IP Bit placed in the end of the stud. Using a wrench remove the nut from the attaching link stud.
7. Remove the attaching link from the stabilizer bar
INSTALL
1. Install new stabilizer bar attaching link so the attaching link stud is facing outward on the stabilizer bar. Install the nut on the attaching link stud. Use the same procedure as when removing the nut to keep the stud from rotating.
2. Hold the attaching link stud from rotating using a Torx Plus 40 IP Bit placed in the end of the stud. Using a crowfoot as shown tighten the stabilizer bar attaching link nut to a torque of 122 Nm (90 ft. lbs.).
3. Push upward on the arms of the stabilizer bar to position the stabilizer bar attaching links as close as possible to the mounting holes in the rocket arms.
4. Lower the vehicle until the front tires are supporting the weight of the vehicle.
NOTE: When installing the stabilizer bar attaching link to rocker arm bolts it may be necessary to raise or lower the vehicle slightly. This will help align the bolts with the holes in the rocker arms making it easier to install the bolts in the rocker arms.
5. Install the stabilizer bar attaching link bolts in the rocker arms. Install the nuts on the stabilizer bar attaching link bolts.
6. Tighten the stabilizer bar attaching link bolts using a flex socket and extension to a torque of 60 Nm (45 ft. lbs.).
7. Install the grill. Install and securely tighten the 4 screws mounting the grill to the front structure.
