REMOVE
1. Raise vehicle on jackstands or centered on a frame contact type hoist.

2. Remove the flag nut and bolt, mounting the shock absorber requiring removal, from the lower crossmember on the frame.

NOTE: The shock absorber requiring removal, can not be removed from the frame crossmember unless the lower mounting bolt for the opposite shock absorber is also loosened.

3. Loosen but do not remove the lower mounting bolt for the shock absorber on the opposite side of the vehicle.
4. Louver the vehicle.

5. Remove the nut and bolt attaching the shock absorber to the rocker arm.

CAUTION: The bolt mounting the stabilizer attaching link to the rocker arm must be loosened to allow removal of the shock absorber from the rocker arm.

NOTE: The stabilizer bar attaching link to rocker arm bolt only needs to be loosened not removed.

6. Loosen bolt attaching stabilizer bar attaching link to rocker arm.
7. Remove shock absorber from rocker arm.
8. Remove shock absorber from vehicle.

CAUTION: When shock absorbers are installed on this vehicle, the vehicle must be at its curb height before the shock absorber lower mounting bolts are tightened and torqued.

INSTALL
1. Install the shock absorber.

CAUTION: When installing shock absorber into rocker arm, care must be used so the upper bushing on the shock absorber and the rocker arm are not damaged.

2. Install the upper bushing on the shock absorber into the rocker arm. Bushing can be installed the easiest by first carefully starting the front and back edge of the bushing into the rocker arm and then lightly tapping it into the rocker using soft faced hammer.
3. Install the shock absorber to rocker arm mounting bolt. Tighten the bolt to a torque of 163 Nm (120 ft. lbs.).

4. Tighten the stabilizer bar attaching link bolts using a flex socket and extension to a torque of 60 Nm (45 ft. lbs.).
5. Raise the vehicle on jack stands or on a frame contact type hoist.
6. Install the bolt and flag nut, mounting the removed shock absorber to the frame crossmember. DO NOT TIGHTEN THE BOLT AT THIS TIME
7. Lower the vehicle.

NOTE: When jouncing the vehicle, the vehicle must be released at the bottom of the jounce cycle. This will ensure the vehicle's suspension will raise the vehicle to the correct curb height at the top of the jounce cycle.

8. Position the vehicle on a drive on hoist or an alignment rack so the full weight of the vehicle is supported by the suspension. Correctly jounce the front and the rear of the vehicle to obtain the correct curb height.
9. Tighten both shock absorber lower mounting bolts to a torque of 163 Nm (120 ft. lbs.).
