CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION:

Ignition voltage is supplied to the fuel injector on circuit 439. The injector will be pulsed when the ECM cycles the injector drive circuit (467).


TEST DESCRIPTION: The numbers below refer to circled numbers on the diagnostic chart.

1. This check determines if the injector connector has ignition voltage and at one terminal only.
2. A faulty ECM may result in damage to the injector.
3. A test light connected from the ECM harness terminal "W1" to ground should light due to continuity through the injector.

CAUTION: Not all SCAN testers are compatible with every system. A SCAN tool that produces faulty readings should NOT be used, and the problem should be reported to the tool manufacturer. Use of a faulty SCAN tool can result in improper diagnosis and unnecessary component replacement. Follow the proper instructions, located in the owners manual, for the specific SCAN tool being used.
