Front Crankshaft Seal: Service and Repair

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Remove crankshaft sprocket as described under CRANKSHAFT SPROCKET.
3. Remove key and rear thrust washer from end of crankshaft.
4. Remove rear timing cover as described under TIMING BELT REAR COVER.
5. On all models, using a suitable tool, remove crankshaft front oil seal.
6. During installation of crankshaft front oil seal, position tool No. J-33083 or equivalent, Fig. 11, onto crankshaft. Lubricate front oil seal lip and install onto crankshaft.
7. Reverse procedure to complete installation.
