Drum Brake Hardware Inspection





1. Visually inspect the drum brake system hold-down springs (15,22) for the following:
^ Excessive corrosion
^ Damaged or bent locating pins
^ Broken spring coils
^ Damaged retaining cups
2. Visually inspect the anchor spring (18) and the return springs (8,19) for the following:
^ Excessive corrosion
^ Excessive stretching
^ Broken hook ends
^ Twisting or binding
3. Replace the drum brake system hardware if necessary.
