Engine Oil Cooler Replacement
Removal Procedure
1. Remove the intake manifold cover. Refer to Intake Manifold Cover Replacement (Service and Repair) .
2. Drain the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling (LY7, LZ4, LZ9 Static Fill) (Service and Repair)Cooling System Draining and Filling (GE 47716 Fill) (Service and Repair)Cooling System Draining and Filling (LE5 Static Fill) (Service and Repair) .
3. Reposition the surge tank outlet hose clamps at the thermostat housing and oil cooler.
4. Remove the surge tank outlet hose from the thermostat housing and oil cooler.
5. Reposition the radiator outlet hose clamp at the oil cooler.
6. Remove the radiator outlet hose from the oil cooler.
7. Remove the oil cooler bolts.
8. Remove the oil cooler.
Installation Procedure
1. Position the oil cooler to the engine block.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice .
2. Install the oil cooler bolts.
Tighten the bolts to 22 N.m (16 lb ft).
3. Install the radiator outlet hose to the oil cooler.
4. Position the radiator outlet hose clamp at the oil cooler.
5. Install the surge tank outlet hose to the thermostat housing and oil cooler.
6. Position the surge tank outlet hose clamps at the thermostat housing and oil cooler.
7. Fill the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling (LY7, LZ4, LZ9 Static Fill) (Service and Repair)Cooling System Draining and Filling (GE 47716 Fill) (Service and Repair)Cooling System Draining and Filling (LE5 Static Fill) (Service and Repair) .
8. Install the intake manifold cover. Refer to Intake Manifold Cover Replacement (Service and Repair) .
