Harmonic Balancer - Crankshaft Pulley: Service and Repair

Crankshaft Balancer Replacement

Tools Required

* EN 46106 Flywheel Holding Tool.
* J 45059 Angle Meter.



Removal Procedure

1. Remove the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement (Service and Repair) .
Caution: Refer to Safety Glasses Caution (Safety Glasses Warning) .
Caution: Refer to Vehicle Lifting Caution (Service Precautions) .
2. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle (Service and Repair) .
3. Remove the starter motor. Refer to Starter Motor Replacement (3.6L Engine) (Starter Motor Replacement (3.6L Engine))Starter Motor Replacement (6.0L Engine) (Starter Motor Replacement (6.0L Engine)) .




4. Install the EN 46106 (1) through the starter mounting hole.
5. Lower the vehicle.
6. Remove the front air deflector. Refer to Front Air Deflector Replacement (Service and Repair) .
7. Remove the crankshaft balancer. Refer to Crankshaft Balancer Removal (Overhaul) .



Installation Procedure

1. Install the crankshaft balancer. Refer to Crankshaft Balancer Installation (Overhaul) .
2. Install the front air deflector. Refer to Front Air Deflector Replacement (Service and Repair) .
3. Raise the vehicle.




4. Remove EN 46106 (1) from the starter mounting hole.
5. Remove the starter motor. Refer to Starter Motor Replacement (3.6L Engine) (Starter Motor Replacement (3.6L Engine))Starter Motor Replacement (6.0L Engine) (Starter Motor Replacement (6.0L Engine)) .
6. Install the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement (Service and Repair) .
