Oil Level Sensor: Service and Repair



Engine Oil Level Sensor and/or Switch Replacement

Removal Procedure

Caution: Refer to Safety Glasses Caution (Safety Glasses Warning) .
Caution: Refer to Vehicle Lifting Caution (Service Precautions) .
1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle (Service and Repair) .
2. Remove the Engine Splash Shield. Refer to Engine Splash Shield Replacement (Service and Repair) .




3. Drain the engine oil. Refer to Engine Oil and Oil Filter Replacement (Service and Repair) .
4. Disconnect the engine oil level switch electrical connector (2).
5. Remove the engine oil level switch to oil pan retaining bolt (4).
6. Remove the engine oil level switch (3) from the oil pan (1).



Installation Procedure






Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice (Fastener Notice) .

1. Install the engine oil level switch (2) to the oil pan (3).

Tighten the engine oil level switch bolt to 20 N.m (15 lb ft).

2. Connect the engine oil level switch electrical connector (1).
3. Install the front air deflector. Refer to Front Air Deflector Replacement (Service and Repair) .
4. Lower the vehicle.
5. Fill the engine oil. Refer to Engine Oil and Oil Filter Replacement (Service and Repair) .
6. Inspect for oil leaks after engine start up.
