Valve Rocker Arm Cleaning and Inspection





1. Inspect the valve rocker arm (1) for the following:

* Flat spots.
* Scoring and pitting above acceptable tolerances.
* Ensure the roller spins freely.

2. Inspect the valve rocker arm valve tip area (2).
3. Inspect the valve rocker arm Stationary Hydraulic Lash Adjuster (SHLA) pivot area (3).
4. Replace the valve rocker arm or valve rocker arms as necessary.
