90. Engine Block Assemble

Engine Block Assemble





1. Install the cylinder block-to-cylinder head alignment dowels (1).




2. Install the NEW front oil gallery expansion plug (1).
3. Make sure the NEW front oil gallery expansion plug (1) is installed to the correct depth.




4. Install the cylinder block-to-transmission alignment dowels (1).




5. Apply RTV sealant on the NEW coolant expansion plugs (1).
6. Install the NEW coolant expansion plugs (1).
7. Make sure the NEW coolant expansion plugs (1) are installed to the correct depth.




8. Apply thread sealant on the threads of the M20 left side oil gallery threaded plug (1).

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice (Fastener Notice) .

9. Install the M20 left side oil gallery threaded plug (1).

Tighten the plug to 31 Nm (23 lb ft).





10. Apply thread sealant on the threads of the M14 left side coolant drain threaded plug (1).
11. Install the M14 left side coolant drain threaded plug (1).

Tighten the threaded plug to 31 Nm (23 lb ft).





12. Apply thread sealant on the threads of the M14 rear oil gallery threaded plug (1).
13. Install the M14 rear oil gallery threaded plug (1).

Tighten the plug to 31 Nm (23 lb ft).





14. Apply thread sealant on the threads of the M14 right side coolant drain threaded plug (1).
15. Install the M14 right side coolant drain threaded plug (1).

Tighten the plug to 31 Nm (23 lb ft).





16. Apply thread sealant on the threads of the M14 right side oil gallery threaded plug (1).
17. Install the M14 right side oil gallery threaded plug (1).

Tighten the plug to 31 Nm (23 lb ft).





18. Install the cylinder block-to-oil pan alignment dowels (1).




19. Install the NEW right front oil pan rail oil gallery expansion plug (1).
20. Make sure the NEW right front oil pan rail oil gallery expansion plug (1) is installed to the correct depth.




21. Install the oil jets (1).
22. Install the oil jet to cylinder block retaining bolts (2).

Tighten the bolts to 10 Nm (89 lb in).
