Transmission Fluid Draining

Tools Required

J 45012 Holding Fixture

1. Place a suitable drain tray under the transmission.




2. Remove the fluid pan drain plug (63) and seal (64), and allow the transmission fluid to drain.




3. Put transmission in park.
4. Install either the J 45012 to hold the drive flange.

Important: Discard retainer (30), seal (32), washer (33) and nut (34).


5. Remove the drive flange retaining nut (34).
6. Remove the drive flange washer (33) and seal (32).
7. Remove the drive flange (31) and the output shaft assembly retainer (30).
8. Slowly rotate the transmission to a vertical position, with the bell housing facing up, and allow any excess fluid to drain.
