Rear Compartment Lid Latch Release Cable Replacement

Removal Procedure


Important: When a suitable hold open device is being removed or installed, provide alternate support to avoid the possibility of damage to the vehicle or personal injury.


1. Support the rear compartment lid with a suitable brace.
2. Remove the rear seat back. Refer to Rear Seat Back Cushion Replacement (Rear Seat Back Cushion Replacement) .
3. Remove the rear compartment side trim panel replacement. Refer to Rear Compartment Side Trim Panel Replacement (Service and Repair) .
4. Remove the rear compartment lid lock actuator. Refer to Rear Compartment Lid Latch Replacement (Service and Repair) .




5. Remove the rear compartment lid release cable to rear seat back panel retaining screw (1)




6. Remove the rear compartment lid release cable to rear compartment retaining clips (1).
7. Remove the rear compartment lid release cable (2) from the rear compartment.



Installation Procedure





1. Position the rear compartment lid release cable (2) in the rear compartment.
2. Install the rear compartment lid release cable to rear compartment retaining clips (2).




3. Install the rear compartment lid release cable to rear seat back panel retaining screw (1).

Tighten the screw to 2 N.m (18 lb in).

4. Install the rear compartment lid lock actuator. Refer to Rear Compartment Lid Latch Replacement (Service and Repair) .
5. If re-programming is required. Refer to Control Module References (Programming and Relearning) .
6. Install the rear compartment side trim panel replacement. Refer to Rear Compartment Side Trim Panel Replacement (Service and Repair) .
7. Install the rear seat back. Refer to Rear Seat Back Cushion Replacement (Rear Seat Back Cushion Replacement) .
8. Remove the suitable brace from the vehicle.
