Cooling System Air Bleeder Pipe / Hose: Service and Repair



Coolant Air Bleed Pipe Assembly Replacement

Removal Procedure


Important: Removal of the intake manifold is NOT required to service the coolant air bleed pipe, but is required to service the coolant air bleed pipe covers and/or gaskets.






1. Drain a gallon of coolant. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling (Service and Repair) .
2. Remove the throttle air body assembly. Refer to Throttle Body Assembly Replacement (Removal and Replacement) .
3. Remove the coolant air bleed hose (4).
4. Remove the coolant air bleed pipe mounting bolts (3).
5. Remove the coolant air bleed pipe (1) and O-rings (2).



Installation Procedure





1. Position the coolant air bleed pipe (1) and O-rings (2) on the cylinder heads.
2. Install the mounting bolts (3) for the coolant air bleed pipe (1).

Tighten the bolts to 12 N.m (106 lb in).

3. Install the coolant air bleed hose (4).
4. Install the throttle air body assembly. Refer to Throttle Body Assembly Replacement (Removal and Replacement) .
5. Fill the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling (Service and Repair) .
