Valve Lifter Oil Manifold Removal
1. DO NOT lift the Valve Lifter Oil Manifold (VLOM) (2) by the electrical lead frame (1).
2. Remove the VLOM to cylinder retaining bolts (2).
3. Remove the VLOM (1) from the cylinder block (3).
4. Identify the 8 VLOM outer gasket retaining strap locations (1-8).
Important: Only use a wire-cutter type tool in order to minimize the amount of debris. Do not use a rotary-type cutting tool on the VLOM outer gasket retaining straps.
5. Cut the 8 VLOM outer gasket retaining straps (1).
Important: Remove only the VLOM outer gasket (1) from the VLOM (2). DO NOT disassemble any of the internal components of the VLOM in an attempt to remove the 8 VLOM inner gaskets (3). If the VLOM inner gaskets (3) are cut or damaged, replace the VLOM (2) as an assembly.
6. Remove the VLOM outer gasket (1) from the VLOM (2).
