55. Oil Pan Cleaning and Inspection
Oil Pan Cleaning and Inspection
1. Remove the oil filter adapter (1).
2. Remove the oil pan baffle to oil pan retaining bolts (1).
3. Remove the oil pan baffle (2).
4. Clean the oil pan in solvent.
Caution: Refer to Safety Glasses Caution (Safety Glasses Warning) .
5. Dry the oil pan with compressed air.
6. Inspect the oil pan for the following conditions:
* Damaged gasket surfaces.
* Restrictions within the oil passages of the pan.
* Threaded bolt holes for damage.
7. Inspect the oil transfer tube for restrictions or damage.
8. Install the oil pan baffle (2).
9. Install the oil pan baffle to oil pan retaining bolts (1).
Tighten the bolts to 12 N.m (106 lb in).
10. Install the oil filter adapter (1) Refer to Oil Filter Adapter Installation .
