63. Engine Wiring Harness Assembly Installation

ENGINE WIRING HARNESS ASSEMBLY INSTALLATION





1. Connect the oil pressure sensor electrical connector (1).

Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

2. Install the wiring harness assembly earth to cylinder head retaining bolt (3)

Tighten
Bolt to 4 Nm (35 lb in).

3. Attach the wiring harness assembly retaining clip (2) to the left side cylinder head (4).





4. Position and secure the left side fuel injector wiring harness (5) away from the intake manifold (1).
5. Connect the left side ignition coil main connector (3).
6. Install the CPA lock (4) from the left side ignition coil main connector (3).
7. Connect the left side fuel injector wiring harness connectors (2).





Important: Listen for an audible click to confirm fitting of the electrical connector.

8. Connect the alternator electrical connector (1).





9. Connect the camshaft position sensor connector (4).
10. Connect the coolant temperature sensor connector (3).
11. Attach the wiring harness retaining clip (2) to the engine lifting bracket (1).





Important: Make sure the power steering reservoir (2) and the power steering reservoir bracket locking tang (1) are engaged to avoid an induced rattle condition.

12. Install the power steering reservoir (2) to the power steering pump power steering reservoir bracket (1).





13. Connect the electronic throttle body wiring harness connector (1).





14. Connect the electrical connector to the A/C Refrigerant Pressure Sensor (1).





15. Connect the A/C electrical connector (1).





16. Position the wiring harness ground (1) on he cylinder head (2).
17. Install the cylinder head stud (3) to the cylinder head (2).

Tighten
Stud to 30 Nm (22 lb ft).





18. Position the vehicle body ground cable (3) on the cylinder head stud (2).
19. Install the vehicle body ground cable to cylinder head retaining nut (1).

Tighten
Nut to 25 Nm (18 lb ft).





20. Position the right side fuel injector wiring harness (4) on the intake manifold (2).
21. Connect the manifold absolute pressure (MAP) sensor wiring harness connector (3).
22. Connect the canister purge valve wiring harness connector (5).
23. Connect the right side ignition coil main connector (6).
24. Install the CPA lock (7) from the right side ignition coil main connector (6).
25. Connect the right side fuel injector wiring harness connectors (1).





26. Connect the right side knock sensor electrical connector (1).
27. Connect the oil level/temperature sensor electrical connector (2).





28. Connect the crankshaft position (CKP) sensor electrical connector (1).





29. Install the starter motor (2) Into position.
30. Install starter motor to bell housing retaining bolts (1).

Tighten
Bolts to 50 Nm (37 lb ft).





31. Connect the starter motor electrical connector (2)
32. Install the battery positive cable and retaining nut (1).

Tighten
Nut to 10 Nm (89 lb in).





33. Install the heat shield to the vehicle (2).
34. Install the heat shield to starter motor retaining bolts (1).

Tighten
Bolts to 5 Nm (44 lb in).





35. Connect the main transmission electrical connector (4).
36. Connect the heated oxygen sensor electrical connector (1).
37. Attach the engine wiring loom assembly (2) to the retaining clip (1).
