Windshield Defroster Duct Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the instrument panel (I/P) upper trim pad. Refer to Instrument Panel Upper Trim Pad Replacement (Service and Repair) .




2. Remove the air outlet duct to I/P upper trim pad retaining screws (1).




3. Remove the air outlet duct to I/P upper trim pad retaining screws (1).




4. Disengage the defroster duct to instrument panel (I/P) upper trim pad retaining clips (2)
5. Remove the defroster duct assembly (1) from the I/P upper trim pad (3).



Installation Procedure






Important: Make sure the defroster duct to instrument panel (I/P) upper trim pad retaining clips (2) are engaged to avoid an induced rattle condition.


1. Install the defroster duct assembly (1) to the instrument panel (I/P) upper trim pad (3).





Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice (Fastener Notice) .

2. Install the air outlet duct to I/P upper trim pad retaining screws (1).

Tighten the screws to 2 N.m (18 lb in).





3. Install the air outlet duct to I/P upper trim pad retaining screws (1).

Tighten the screws to 2 N.m (18 lb in).

4. Install the I/P upper trim pad. Refer to Instrument Panel Upper Trim Pad Replacement (Service and Repair) .
