Subject: Battery B+ Terminal Cover Removal Procedure

Models:
2006-2011 Chevrolet Caprice (including PPV), Lumina (VE/WM Models)
2008-2010 Pontiac G8

Investigation into broken battery B+ terminal covers has found that they have broken as result of incorrect removal.

Please follow the procedure below when removing battery terminal covers.








1. Dislodge the two cover clips (reference number 1 & 2 in figure 1) from their holders by pulling them outward in the directions shown above. Do not force the cover upward until these clips are dislodged.
2. Remove the cover by pulling it upwards

Note
Never lift from one side or one corner and lever it off or the cover will break.
