Front Door: Service and Repair



Front Side Door Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the door trim panel. Refer to Front Side Door Trim Panel Replacement (Service and Repair).
2. Remove the water deflector. Refer to Front Side Door Water Deflector Replacement (Service and Repair).
3. Remove the rear view mirror. Refer to Power Mirror Replacement (Power Mirror Replacement).
4. Remove the outer sealing strip. Refer to Front Side Door Window Belt Outer Sealing Strip Replacement (Front Side Door Window Belt Outer Sealing Strip Replacement).
5. Remove the door weather-strip. Refer to Front Side Door Weatherstrip Replacement (Service and Repair).
6. Remove the door window weather-strip. Refer to Front Side Door Window Weatherstrip Replacement (Front Side Door Window Weatherstrip Replacement).
7. Remove the window guide. Refer to Door Window Guide Replacement (Door Window Guide Replacement).
8. Remove the door lock. Refer to Front Side Door Lock Replacement (Front Side Door Lock Replacement).
9. Remove the door lock cylinder. Refer to Door Lock Cylinder Replacement (Service and Repair).
10. Remove the outside door handle. Refer to Front Side Door Check Link Replacement (Service and Repair).
11. Remove the door window. Refer to Front Side Door Window Replacement (Service and Repair).
12. Remove the door window regulator and motor. Refer to Front Side Door Window Regulator Replacement (Service and Repair).
13. Remove the front upper door speaker. Refer to Front Upper Speaker Replacement (Front Upper Speaker Replacement).
14. Remove the front lower door speaker. Refer to Radio Front Side Door Lower Speaker Replacement (Radio Front Side Door Lower Speaker Replacement).
15. Remove the front door body side molding. Refer to Front Side Door Molding Replacement ().
16. Remove the front lower door side molding. Refer to Front Side Door Lower Molding Replacement ().
17. Remove the left fender, if necessary. Refer to Front Fender Replacement - Left Side (Service and Repair).
18. Remove the right fender, if necessary. Refer to Front Fender Replacement - Right Side (Service and Repair).
19. Remove the door check link. Refer to Front Side Door Check Link Replacement (Service and Repair).




20. Release the door wiring harness grommet and unroute the wiring harness (3) from the door (6) and door jamb, if equipped.
21. Remove the front door wiring harness from the vehicle, if equipped.
22. Remove all the retainers from the front door (6).
23. Mark the door hinge (2, 4) location.
24. Remove the following components from the vehicle:

* The 4 door to hinge bolts (1, 5)
* The front door (6)




Installation Procedure






Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice .

1. Install the front door (6) to the vehicle. Align the matchmarks on the hinges (2, 4) in order to aid in the correct adjustment of the door. Secure the door to the hinges (2, 4) with the 4 bolts (1, 5).

Tighten the door to hinge bolts to 26 N.m (19 lb ft).

2. Install all the plastic retainers to the door (6).
3. Route the door wiring harness (3) and seat the grommet into position in the door (6).
4. Install the door check link. Refer to Front Side Door Check Link Replacement (Service and Repair).
5. Install the left fender, if removed. Refer to Front Fender Replacement - Left Side (Service and Repair).
6. Install the right fender, if removed. Refer to Front Fender Replacement - Right Side (Service and Repair).
7. Install the front door body side molding. Refer to Front Side Door Molding Replacement ().
8. Install the front door side molding. Refer to Front Side Door Lower Molding Replacement ().
9. Install the door window regulator and motor. Refer to Front Side Door Window Regulator Replacement (Service and Repair).
10. Install the front lower door speaker. Refer to Radio Front Side Door Lower Speaker Replacement (Radio Front Side Door Lower Speaker Replacement).
11. Install the front upper door speaker. Refer to Front Upper Speaker Replacement (Front Upper Speaker Replacement).
12. Install the door window. Refer to Front Side Door Window Replacement (Service and Repair).
13. Install the outside door handle. Refer to Front Side Door Check Link Replacement (Service and Repair).
14. Install the door lock cylinder. Refer to Door Lock Cylinder Replacement (Service and Repair).
15. Install the door lock. Refer to Front Side Door Lock Replacement (Front Side Door Lock Replacement).
16. Install the door window weather-strip. Refer to Front Side Door Window Weatherstrip Replacement (Front Side Door Window Weatherstrip Replacement).
17. Install the door weather-strip. Refer to Front Side Door Weatherstrip Replacement (Service and Repair).
18. Install the outer sealing strip. Refer to Front Side Door Window Belt Outer Sealing Strip Replacement (Front Side Door Window Belt Outer Sealing Strip Replacement).
19. Install the outside rearview mirror. Refer to Power Mirror Replacement (Power Mirror Replacement).
20. Install the water deflector. Refer to Front Side Door Water Deflector Replacement (Service and Repair).
21. Install the door trim panel. Refer to Front Side Door Trim Panel Replacement (Service and Repair).
