Inflatable Restraint Side Impact Module Replacement - Right Side

Removal Procedure





1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling (Service and Repair).
2. Remove the front seat back cover. Refer to Front Seat Back Cushion Cover and Cushion Pad Replacement (Passenger Side) (Front Seat Back Cushion Cover and Cushion Pad Replacement (Passenger Side))Front Seat Back Cushion Cover and Cushion Pad Replacement (Driver Side) (Front Seat Back Cushion Cover and Cushion Pad Replacement (Driver Side)).




3. Disconnect the electrical connector (3) from the side impact module.
4. Remove the side impact module fasteners (1).
5. Remove the side impact module (2).
6. Fully deploy the module before disposal. If the module was replaced under warranty, fully deploy and dispose of the module after the required retention period. Refer to Inflator Module Handling and Scrapping (Service and Repair).



Installation Procedure





1. Install the side impact module (2).
2. Install the side impact module fasteners (1).
3. Connect the electrical connector (3) to the side impact module.




4. Install the front seat back cover. Refer to Front Seat Back Cushion Cover and Cushion Pad Replacement (Passenger Side) (Front Seat Back Cushion Cover and Cushion Pad Replacement (Passenger Side))Front Seat Back Cushion Cover and Cushion Pad Replacement (Driver Side) (Front Seat Back Cushion Cover and Cushion Pad Replacement (Driver Side)).
5. Enable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling (Service and Repair).
