Evaporative Emission Canister Purge Tube Replacement

Removal Procedure




1. Remove the fuel injector sight shield. Refer to Fuel Injector Sight Shield Replacement (Service and Repair).
2. Disconnect evaporative emission (EVAP) canister purge tube quick connect fitting (1) at the upper intake manifold. Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service (Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service).
3. Disconnect EVAP canister purge tube quick connect fitting (2) at the EVAP purge solenoid valve. Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service (Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service).




4. Remove the EVAP canister purge tube from under the positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) tube and from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure




1. Install the EVAP canister purge tube to the vehicle and route the purge tube under the PCV tube.




2. Connect EVAP canister purge tube quick connect fitting (2) at the EVAP purge solenoid valve. Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service (Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service).
3. Connect EVAP canister purge tube quick connect fitting (1) at the upper intake manifold. Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service (Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service).
4. Install the fuel injector sight shield. Refer to Fuel Injector Sight Shield Replacement (Service and Repair).
